Default "reduced engine performance" "limp mode"

Hi,

A couple of time I have gotten the "reduced engine performance" light come on the dash. Once was on the highway and only felt a slight hesitation before it came on and the other time was just at a stop light at idle- after which it almost stalled. Both times, turning the car off and back on made everything back to normal.
The dealer said its a "communication error between the throttle control and the ECM". They suggested replacing the connectors of the wiring harness between the ETA and the ECM.
Anyone have any experience or comments about this?
Thanks
