Regular service required?
My 2002 s60, on the little display on the dash, at 158,500 km (98,500 miles), tells me that regular service is required.
Anyone have any suggestions on whether or not I should actually take my car in to have it serviced? I have not observed any problems with my car, so I don't want to do any unnecessary work on it. However there may be some preventative maintenance that should be done on the car.
Thanks for any advice!

Jimbo, do you have an owners manual? If not, check out the one on line.

Do you want to keep your car running good? Or only give it attention when it breaks down on the road? If you are married, do you keep your marriage in good shape by being nice to your spouse daily, or do you wait till your served divorce papers to start being nice? Cars have things that wear out and the maintenance schedule is designed to help you avoid the thing breaking down somewhere.
Look over the schedule and keep it serviced. If you don't want to do that you may want to trade it so you can drive a new car that may not break down or need as much servicing.
BTW, I would only suggest you replace water pumps that are LEAKING.

That's a reminder for you to change oil. After you change ur oil, do a reset (look in ur owners manual or browse around on how to do a reset) and that message will be gone and come back when u near the 5K mile interval for another oil change.
