This procedure was found in the V50 forum and seemed to work on my S60:

1. Press and hold trip odometer reset button
2. Turn ignition key to run position KPII (not the start position)
3. Wait 30 seconds or until service light begins blinking
4. Release Trip Odometer button
5. Turn ignition to off position

This is what works on my 40 s60r.

How to Reset Service Light Put key in ignition, push down and hold trip reset button while simultaneously turning key to position one, wait a few seconds then turn the key to position 2 (all the time holding trip reset button down.) Then service light or yellow triangle, depending on car will flash a few times and then go off.

Yep, what twowheelin said, i just did that on my 05 s60 d5, push in tripmeter, turn key to position 2, the yellow triangle will start flashing, when this happens let go of the button, you'll hear a bleep to let you know its reset, job done.

I have tried both of the above listed ways to reset the service light with not luck. Anyone have any other ideas. I have a 2001 S60 2.4T.

This procedure works on my 2001 S60-T5.

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 st2\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) }st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } Style Definitions table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:"; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} 1. Turn the ignition key to position I.
2. Ensure that the trip display is on T1 and shows some miles (not zero). Press and hold the T1 reset button and wait for the odometer to set to zero.
3. While holding button, quickly turn the ignition key to position II (before mileage returns). When the previously displayed miles reappears, release the trip reset button.

Sorry, I cut & paste the procedure and it pulled a bunch of crap text with it, procedure is a below:

Many thanks! I've been looking for this procedure. This works on the '06 s40 too.
