Default S60 2.4T - 2002 - check engine light "On" without OBD2 code

Hi there,

I just got repaired the "cylinder head" because of a coolant leaking problem on cylinder no. 1, I think the OBD2 code was P301.

Just after this succesfull repair and driving the car for about 1 or 2 miles the check engine light pops up again, but this time there's no OBD2 code. I erased the check engine light using the same OBD2 scanner, but the light comes again after a couple of miles.

I went to the Volvo dealer and asked a technitian about the problem and he told me that he has to reset the computer's memory to erase the original OBD2 code (P301), even though the scanner doesn't show any code. Cost of this reset US$250.00.

Do you guys have any idea on how can I do the reset by myself.

Thank you.

disconnect the negative battery cable and tape it to the positive for 15 minutes.

nothing to worry about, but if you are concerned then disconnect BOTH battery cables and tape them together (off the battery) for 15 minutes.
