Hi, could anyone please give me some advise. My volvo s60 auto 2001 makes a noise about 20 seconds after driving off. I was told this was the abs system checking itself. But now I'm getting a similar noise but louder and does it about three or four times after I've put my foot on the brake and after turning left. I've had it to the garage, they replaced the front drivers side wheel bearing and checked the front coil springs which were ok. They've had it on the computer which didn't show any faults, but since I got it back the stc light flashes as I'm accelerating. The mechanic seems to think it's the abs system which is making the noise and he's says it's safe. I'm not happy with the explanation, the noise is very disconcerting. Has anyone had any similar problems and did they get it sorted.
Any advise would be really helpful, not happy driving it at the moment.
