Default S70 pulls to right and Left when braking

My 1998 S70 sometimes pulls to the right or left intermitently when braking; althought pulling is very subtle. The front brake pads are half worn and the rear pads are new. Is this pulling phenomenon is an indication of both calipers sticking intermitently or are there any oher culprits?Has anyone else experienced this type of pulling? I hate to put two new calipers as there are costly and time consuming repair espeially if I do not have to.

When my control arm bushings at the frame were bad, my car pulled a little when I put the brakes on sometimes. It kinda felt like I hit a very small patch of ice when first applied.

FROM VOLVO WORLD:

Appreciate the quick response regarding my 98, S70 pulling to either right or left intermitently when first applying the brakes. Your comparison to "hitting a small patch of ice" is very accurate. Does this mean that both stabilizers' bushings are bad?
Also, How much should it cost to change both of the stabilizers. I have changed both of during the past 2 to 3 years.

You can tell which one(s) by getting the front wheel off the ground and trying to move the wheel 3 & 9. If the wheel move even little the control arms is likely bad. You can look at the mount and see the bushing move, it shouldn't move at all.

I pulled a couple from a salvage yard. The important thing is that they are installed with a load on them or they will eat up the bushings pretty fast. They should last about 10 years / 100,000 miles but if they are not installed properly they can go bad real fast.

Cost, heck, it cost me about $45 because I pulled some from a car out of a junk yard. If you go to the stealer, you can pay $175 for each one then $250 to have them installed and another $100 for an alignment. So about $525 at the stealer and maybe $325 elsewhere.

Hi rspi,
Once again many thanks for taking the to provide the info regarding the replacement of the stabilizers. I will check both Stabilizer Control Arm bushings and will advise.
I am relieved that caliperes may not be the culprit.
