S60 2006 T5 AWD - Very Sensitive To the Road
Hi Everyone
I just joined to group to get everyones feedback as I am totally fed up with the alignment of my car. Its a brand new 2006 S60 AWD T5 I bought in March. Since then I have got it aligned 5 times as I feel on high speeds, this car is super sensitive. You cant even lift you hand for a second if you are going more than 120km/h
Does anyone else have this issue or how can I minimize the impact of this.
I am in Toronto Canada and would like an independent review of the car done. Any suggestion.
Thanks

I had the same problem when I first got the car. The first thing that I did was have the alignment checked (it was off slightly). I then got rid of the OEM Michelin tires. They got terrible reviews on Tirerack; this particular Michelin tire has what I call "soft" sidewalls, i.e., they flex a lot. I did my research and bought Goodyear Assurance Triple Treads, and I noticed a real difference.
I would also point out that there is very little "play" in the steering just off center (no "sneeze factor", as I have heard it referred to). It took me a while to adjust to this.
Try changing tires.

Just by way of an update. I have been trying to locate the source of a noise from the rear suspension. Service technician said the right rear shock was bad (at 7000 miles?!). Parts were on "critical back-order" with Sweden. I wonder whether this indicates a more generalized problem.
Anyway, they did the repair, and the car seems a little more stable, although the steering still feels very "sharp". Turn-in is great when cornering, but still seems a little too sensitive when on highway.
