V70 Speed sensitive steering problem
I have a 2005 V70 2.5T with speed sesitive steering it has 51,800 miles on it. The steering is more like steering a truck whether at low or high speeds. Can't find any visible leaks, it makes no type of noise, it is like driving with no power steering let alone speed sesitive steering. Took it to Volvo dealer, they agree but can't find anything (who knows what they checked). Anyone else have this problem. Could it be the 17" Dunlop tires. Love the car but the steering is very annoying to say the least. Any way to tell if it is the rack and pinion? I don't know if this an electronic system ot not. Could it be in the suspension. Any help and ideas verymuch appreciated.

I'm 99% sure it's a conventional hydraulic system. Other than that, I'm afraid I'm no help. Very odd that the dealer didn't find a problem. Volvo steering isn't heavy, so if it feels like there's no assist then something is wrong.
If the dealeryou go to really want to look in to the issue the would have look up the 2 tech net note available onfault tracing the speed sensitive power steering system! They should be able to find the problem by referring to it.
Hi, My 2004 V70R Manual has same power steering issue; no speed sensitive steering. Can you summarize the content of the bullitins, or maybe someonw can suggest ideas? I looked in the manual, checked the fuse it listed as for speed steering, but it was fine. Pulled and replaced just to be sure.. Ideas?
