Default S60 2011 t4 blown head cylinder gasket

Hi this is my first post in this forum
i am owner of 2011 t4 volvo s60 with 80000 km on it
Recently i was having indicator in my panel for low coolant level so i get the car to the dealer and they inform me today that i am facimg gasket cylinder burn.
I would like to know if there is a common issue on that model engine and how can i proceed with volvo dealer as in my opinion is not acceptable.to have that issue so early as my car is having only 80000 km ..... also i notice some recall issues on internet from volvo in 2016 which corespont to my model for the specific problem and i would like to know how can i check if my vin number was under that recall

A leaking cylinder head gasket is more common today, in general, than say 30 years ago. I've only had two Volvo cars that needed a head gasket replaced, but then, I generally dont buy them if they exhibit cooling issues.

Changing the head gasket is not the end of the world. If you have the skills, just fix it and move on.

Volvo mechanics are the worst bunch of parts changing bast#$%ds I've ever seen. They will price gouge you for what ever they can get you to agree to. How can they tell it has head gasket burn unless it's blowing coolant out of the coolant bottle. Start the car up with the fill bottle top off. If coolant comes rushing out, its a gasket. I would find a good independent mechanic to have them look at it. Could be as small as a coolant leak around the thermostat housing or hose buried in the back of the engine. Volvo's have plenty of leaks. If not a head gasket replacement better than a complete engine. Search the web to find out if a recall is available. Volvo will not volunteer this information.
