I have the srs urgent service fault displaying on my 2003 s60. Can someone post a link to the type of scanner I could buy that would be able to clear the fault code.

none - only dealer can clear SRS codes.

took the radio out without disconnecting the battery?

 

I could have sworn that I read somewhere that it can be done.

The dealer has reset it 3 times so far and it keeps coming back...it is getting expensive. Is there anyway to permanently fix this?

 

if it keeps coming back it probably is pointing to something actually being out of sorts.

I have one and it works. I do agree with Bender though if you keep getting the SRS code more than likely something is wrong and more than a reset needs to be done.

A disclaimer on the scanner above, it is for most models 01-07 but there are a few exceptions noted on there website that it will not work with.

 

I just had to reset my srs message after, yes, pulling the heater control out with battery connected and key in the ignition. Found an indipendant garage with an "X413" scanner and a module for Volvo. He was able to reset the message but it would not identify the fault.
