S60 SRS Message On
OK ... so I messed up and should have checked here first
I replaced the radio on my wife's 2005 S60 2.5T without disconnecting the battery. She loves the car. Who knew that disconnecting the climate control would set the SRS Message. I found out when I checked this forum. Now it won't go off.
Does anyone near the west side of Columbus Ohio have the right scan tool to help me reset it. I hate to waste a day, take it to the dealer, blow $150, and probably have them try to tell me a bunch of other work might need done.
Thanks in advance.

You probably need more than a reset. You can disconnect the CCM with the battery connected without issue. An aftermarket radio will cause a network fault. You'll need a software download to tell the car it doesn't have the factory radio.
Thanks for the reply.
I still have a factory radio/stereo. I changed it because for some reason the radio dash lights went out . With no way to repair them, I got another exact factory radio and just changed it.
Everything was fine until I disconnected the Climate Control. I have had the dash apart before looking for a fuse or something on the radio lights without disconnecting the climate control and the message never appeared.
To change the radio I had to take out the whole assembly and disconnect the climate control ... and upon reassembly and restart ... there she was. The SRS Message.
Thanks again for the reply.

I am going thru the same thing right now. My radio dash lights go off and then will come back on randomly. I heard something about the bulbs in the radio itself burn out. I live in LA and was told to go to a electronic repair shop, got sent there from my radio shop i used in the past with other cars. I called them and it can be done. Just costs around $100 to do and a few hours of time. Haven't had any time to go yet, but do plan on going to fix it. Its so annoying with the light off.
The key was on because I had to move the gear shift out of park so I could get to remove the trim, remove the screws, and get the assembly out of the dash. I should have disconnected the battery and used the manual override to move the shifter.
As far as repairing the radio, I just bought one off ebay for $50 instead of taking it to a repair shop for $100+
