2001 V-70 MESSAGE BOARD STATES "SRS - AIRBAG SERVICE URGENT" WITH "!" IN THE TRIANGLE. I KNOW AIRBAG WAS NOT DEPLOYED, DO THESE SENSORS HAVE TO BE UPDATED FROM TIME TO TIME?

 

Could be something like a bad or loose connector. On my 2004 Audi, the connector under the driver seat went bad and gave the same error message. (Dealer replaced under warrenty.)

 

You know, this is a strange message because 99% of the time this comes up, we do all the normal diagnostics and end up clearing the codes and they never come back.

 

Has the car had a full detail lately?
Did you buy it as a used car lately?

 

I had the same thing. Took it to the dealer and they found a bad connection under drivers seat. Repaired it free!

 

Yeah if something was knocked under the drivers seat then it probably threw a code. Or, have you unplugged one of the plugs lately? That's probably the problem. Try getting it reset. They can also tell you what time and when the code was thrown.
