S60 stalling at 60mph
Hello all,
got an S60 2003. It stalled on me twice on the highway at 60 mph and then drove to destination. It then stalled again after work, I waited a while about 45 min and drove to destination. My brother run a computer diagnostic on it and gives a code for the fuel filter. He doesnt know this car though and he doesnt know where the filter is. He did find the pump under the back seat. I did read here that its to the left of the fuel tank, but that was for an S40. Is this the case for the S60 as well? Car is in the US. I figure I ask before I try tomorrow. Also, does this car have two filters, one inside the tank and one outside?
Appreciate all your inputs and suggestions.

I believe 2003 is when they went to an Intank filter(Not servicable).
One of the sending units for the guage is on the left side. The other sending unit and pump is on the right side of the car.
I have never seen a code for a fuel filter. If you can post the code he pulled.

Thanks for replying.
You are right though the code was not for the fuel filter. My bro often assumes staff. the code was something for fuel pressure and he assumed to try and change the filter which is nowhere to be found. the fuel line goes straight into the tank. and i guess you are right on this also that they went into an in-tank filter. He said the code was P0028 or 98. I looked in a list of Volvo diagnostic codes from Vadis but i dont see 028 or 98. but i saw 093 which i guess is close to 98 and it gives ECM-261A which is a deviation in fuel pressure. one of the symptoms for this code is that the engine cuts out, which is what happened to me. we have to make sure that this is the exact code i guess.
Any ideas in all this.
Thanks for the help.

If you can get ahold of a fuel pressure guage and connect it to the car and drive it and try to get it to stall again. If it does see if the fuel pressure drops before the car stalls.
For the record I have had to change a couple of those fuel pumps already for them being bad.

Thanks for all your inputs and time.
droped the car off at the dealer tonight. will keep you updated.
just a question off this topic.
How does VADIS work. is it as easy as installing it up to a laptop and connect a cable to the car? or
you need a device between the computer and the car?

Thanks for all your replies. You guys are the best!!
It was the fuel pressure sensor. Picked up the car tonight and
runs like a charm.
The also did a "software download upgrade to ECM"
is that the software upgrade to the car's computer as I have read elsewhere in here?
That is good right?
Thanks again for all your time..
