Default S60 T3 (2017) engine coolant temperature

Hello Everyone

I am looking for help with information form someone who has exactly B4204T37 enigne. Do You know what is temperature range of coolant for this engine ?
I am getting weird logs from ECU - and it looks like I can't get over 80 degrees of celcius when outside is around 0 -2

Has anyone checked the temperature and know ?

Thanks in advance

Dealer web stores are good resources for diagrams and part numbers

Example: https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts...ensor-31339941

before you go and replace the part, you can do a basic resistance test by disconnecting the sensor and measuring cold and warm. Google for charts but generally speaking the cold resistance will be 2000-3000 ohms and the warm will be 200-300 ohms.

Most car thermostats open at either 180F or 190F and the fan will kick on when the engine temp exceeds a threshold (not sure for your model, but I'd suspect its in the 220-225F range). Depending on the outside air temp, I'd say normal driving engine temps will be in the 180-210F range.

Are there other issues going on like the car has trouble warming up (suggesting the thermostat is stuck open)?

Curious what tool you are using to get the ECU's temp readings.

Hi
Thank You for answer

Sensor test - You mean coolant temperature sensor ? Or some sensor build in thermostat ?
Hard to say if the car has troubles to get warm - becasue coolant is getting 60 C ( 140 F) very easly - like in 8- 10 minutes of calm driving, when waeather outside is 0 C ( 32 F)
But when it goes higher there are some weird things - below I am sending the chart - it looks like thermostat is opening around 80 C (176 F) and when car stopped e.g on cross-roads it goes suddenly down.
Also when I will turn on heating inside car coolant temperature goes down. I am looking fo answer about the temperature because maybe all is ok and this engine works in this temperature range.
To take all the chart and measurements I use elm interface and Car Scanner Pro app.
This app can also check parameter named Thermostat Electric Heater and it is measured in %. I am wondering it is how open the thermostat is. Because when car is on and in idle it shows 7%, but when I am driving around 60 - 80 km/h is shows betwewn 17 - 30 %.

the engine coolant temp sensor is located at the thermostat housing. You'd have to research what the design is for the newer Volvo thermostats. Old school used a thermostat that when warm simply open a valve. Newer designs can have more than one valve which open at different temps to avoid shocking the engine with the still cold radiator coolant.
