I just purchased a 2004 S60 I really wanted a newer one with the matching trim but this car was too good to pass up. I've read a little about painting it but is there anywhere to buy pre painted replacement trim or even unpainted for that matter in case I had the trim painted and was not satisfied?

 

Dont know too much about buying the pieces, but you could pick up some paint of your same color (try paintscratch.com) and get a spray gun and get to work. Just make sure you take the pieces off first :-) (and clean and prime them...). If thats too much, try forever black or back to black to fix the splotchy gray fade.

 

I have an 01, and was wondering if all the trim was even black. All of the trim on my car looks gray. And is the trim on the lower part of the bumper supposed to be black?

Also, can anyone tell me about how much it would cost to get a shop to paint the trim and bumpers?

 

Yeah its suppsed to be black. I have an 03, and it turned gray almost instantly. I just picked up some reconditioner like I mentioned and rubbed it on with a cloth. In terms of painting them, I have no idea how much it would cost to get it done. You can get a gallon of the same color as your paint from paintscratch.com, and a spray gun and compressor....that's what I would do. But sorry, can't help you.

 

they make this stuff called "Back to Black", it works really well for a while...

 

Just used "black again" on my trim and it looks SO much better. I am going to paint my trim as well, but I am waiting to decide if I will get a body kit as well (I would paint both at the same time).
