s60 Won't Start.....help...help...help
2007 s60 2.5t and had it for a week now. Here's the situation:
1st-Started car and loud knocking from upper engine, which went away after 90 seconds.
2nd-Drove about 300 feet then engine died. Tried to start but engine felt seized....would not turn at all.
3rd-Next morning added 3 qt of oil and it started....Horrible rattle/knocking coming from the upper cam area after it cranked while cold.

pull the upper timing belt cover and have a look if the belt is intact and turn the engine over by hand to see if things seem to be working. Sounds like you could have a "sunken" or broken lifter due to running low on oil... You should check out the oil pressure sensor as well or peek in the oil fill cap after cranking to see if oil is getting to the top half. Does it start up and run at all?
