Default S60R 18" to 17" wheel trade

I've had my S60R now for about a year with the factory 'pegasus' (stock) 18" wheel upgrade and it's driving me nuts. The turning radius is cut a bit short and the rubbing under the wheel carriage when turning into a tight space makes me (and my wife) cringe every time. I'm looking to downgrade to the 17" wheels.

Is anyone interested in trading? I know I could probably sell the 18" wheels outright and get the 17" - and probably make a bit on it. But, honestly, it's not about the profit, it's really just about being able to really enjoy the car. This is the only thing on this car that urks me. Everything else about the car is amazing.

I can understand your grief. However, I must mention that on my '01 T5 with 17's, I have just gotten used to turning the steering wheel one and a half turn either way. Any more than one and a half turn will start the rubbing noise. So I don't know how much 17's will help in your case.

I have 17" on my 2003 S60 and i get rubbing also on both my stock and ASA rims.It seems like it has more to do with tire tread rather than Rims.I had Toyo Proxes that replaced the Pirelli P6 on stock 17" and as soon as i made my 1st full turn the TOYOS started to rub.I have Yokohama Avids W4S now and they still rub a very little but only when the car is in a complete full turn.

yea, these s60's and 70's are notorious for rubbing.. you can install wider wheel spacers if you really want to prevent that but you can lose some of your steering lock (which is already pretty bad in the s80)

On a side note, N1NE, how would you compare the pirellis to toyos to yokohamas...
