S60R clunk noise
Hey Tech or anyone, i have a clunk/click noise that just stared today out of no where as i drive. bought car off lot last week 72k miles. when i come off the accel it makes the noise and then a times when i depress the clutch slower speeds. no wheel vibrations so i ruled out CV shafts and tire rods. anyone know what this could be, and secondly if i cant get to a shop for 3 days should i be ok to drive?? i had the car jacked up a few days ago and no noise until today, 3 days later! car shifts fine so i didnt think it was a transmission issue either.
Based on my experience, the suspension control rods in the rear have ends on them that wear out. This causes a clunking noise when coming off the throttle and also can be heard when getting into it (but harder to hear due the engine). I just was made aware of this by my dealer who wanted a princely sum to replace them. I'm going to jack it up and see what's what and report back.
Okay Guys, I have an 07 and that very noise is coming from the front and its bad real bad. It only has 34K and I'm not happy.
I brought it to the dealer and they tried replacing the angle gear bolts with ones off a XC90 AWD (its a heaver car). Its not as bad but, it sound like it's only coming from the drivers side now. I ran it hard for half a day and I believe the sound is creeping back.
I will not increase the HP (ECU upgrade) till this is resolved however....
Can anyone else through out more ideas. I'm sure its happening to others......

I forgot this tidbit the tech is correct. I called IPD and they said:
1) Check or replace fluid in angle gear
2) Inspect or replace the upper and lower stablizer mounts
3) Inspect or replace the transmission stablizer mount
IPD carries a better harder bushing that woun't ware out as quick.
Still my question why is this happing at 34K Administrator?
Your thoughts please......
