1999 S80 2.9 non-turbo. I have been hearing a clunking noise as I drive slowly through lots. Not at higher speeds. I just changed the blasted O-rings and found the new ones no different than the old ones. The bolt in the off-centre position mounting the steering gear to the subframe was bent and now needs replaced. I am going to retorque the subframe after a short drive to try to seat the o-rings more. They were not set in as firm as I would assume they should be. How much pressure should they be under? The main 2 bolts and the secondary 4 bolts are all tight and will be retorqued. I hope I can drive it till I find a replacement bolt for the steering gear. Is there another solution to the clunking noise?
