I have a question...I want to get a service repair manual off eBay, but I'm not sure which ones are worth buying. Should I get the DVD or just the repair book? Any suggestions?

Vadis is a PC based program that Volvo used till 2005 for parts and repairs on cars.

 

I have just purchased a 2006 S60 AWD ... manuals only go up to 2005? How can I get my hands on a 2006? Also, today is the first day I'm nosing around and I cannot find the oil filter (LOL). Where are they hiding it.

 

Buythe Vadis DVD even if it only goes to '05. Your '06 is the same car as the '05. The DVD's are available on Ebay for anywhere from $10-$100 but are all the same. Buyer beware.
The oil filter is a canister type that is inside the plastic cup on the lower front r/h side of the motor. You have to buy the special wrench (~$10.00) to remove it. Buy the filters and wrench online. I use FCP Groton but there are other choices.

 

Thanks 2002v70. I noticed FCP Groton does not sell OEM which I am a big believer in ... I use to be in the auto manufacturing business. Can you recommend a source for online OEM. I googled it and was overwelmed with choices. Anyone have experience with "myswedishparts.com" who has paid banners on this site? Thanks.

Also, I went on eb*y to purchase a vadis CD for my vehicle (2006 AWD) and they only offer them up to year 2004. What's up with this? Why is it so difficult to get a CD or service manual book for a DIYer for the late model volvos? Does ANYONE HAVE ANOTHER SOURCE?. Thanks.

 

Actually, FCP sells a lot of OEM parts. It is usually listed as such.I have bought lots of parts from them that showed up in a Volvo box. I have also bought parts that show up in the manufacturers box such as Mann filters or the oem trans mount and engine mounts. If you want to be sure phone FCP. Just remember, Volvo Corpreally does not make any parts but usually just provides the specs for the parts and then it is all subcontracted to third party suppliers.

 

Just stay away from Scantech products which FCP also sells.
Everyone on here including tech says they are crap.
