Default Side door mirror entry light

My door entry light on the side door mirror is dead. How do you remove the glass lens to replace it?

Help!!

It should have a locking tab on the lens to push to release it and replace the bulb.

Is the locking tab internal and that you push the lens "up or sideways" to unlock?

I tried pushing and moving the lens around but no success. Any other suggestions.

The light assembly should come out the bottom of the mirror.

I called the Volvo Dealer that services my car and they did not know how to remove the side mirror light as they have never had to change one. They looked at a S60 mirror in the shop and could not get the lense off as well. I'm not sure how much they tried.

Intuitively the lense should come off and the light should come out of the bottom of the mirror...but no luck. The Volvo dealer said that the mirror may have to be removed first, but that was just a guess. Are you answering from experience or guessing?

I had one apart along time ago.Look in behind the mirror glass at the light and see fi you can see anything.
You can pull on the mirror some and look in.

The mirror lens itself should slide in towards the body and relase outside first and then swing in towards the door. At this point you need to unplug the electric for the heated mirror. Then push the lens foreward and it should come free. then when you get to the puddle lamp just push from the side furthest away from the door. you will feel the tab. the lense case will then fall through the bottom. If you need more help let me know. Its not hard and you will not break the mirror lens. They are tougher than you think. I just replaced my whole assembly this past weekend due to my wife and the garage meeting. trust me the lens is tough.

I gave it a try but couldn't get the mirror lens to slide towards the car body to unlock.

I pushed with quite a bit of force and even tried prying it over with a screw driver.

suggestions?

You have to look close and pop the one side first then slide it out.
