Hello all, I'm new to this forum as I just purchased my 01 S60 T5. The resister had to be replaced as the fan was stuck on low speed. Volvo specialist (not Volvo Dealer) fixed the A/C for me. Now I just got the vehicle back and the SRS-AIRBAG SERVICE URGENT message is on, although Airbag light itself (on the right side of the cluster) is not on. Could removing the A/C unit and possibly the dash trickered SRS Message to come on? The nearest Volvo dealership is 3 hours away and will not be easy for me to just run to the dealer to have them looked at. What do I do?? Thanks for your help in advance!!

 

Go back to the Volvo specilist. They should be able to clear the code.

 

Whenever anyone works on my vehicle it sets off a message code. This happened when a friend installed a cup holder and again recentlywhen one of my fuses needed to be replaced. Although thedealer said therewas no relationship between the two and he wanted to charge for a diagnositc test, another dealership acknowledged that if my key was in the ignition when the fuses were being removed,it would set off the message code. I returned to the dealership and told them this and theyreset the message for free.The message had not returned, so I am sure the fuse replacement caused it.

 

If they unplugged any of the radio or climate control connections while the battery was connected that is what did it. You have to disconnect the battery before making any disconnections.
