Default Starting problem?

I have my 2007 volvo s60 2.5T AWD. Every now and then when I start it, it will start but then die out. It only starts for like 2 seconds though. Any ideas?

Sounds like a fuel pump on the blink, but that's just a guess.

I hope not. Expensive fix. I forgot to mention that there isn't a check engine light on either

Although technology has made cars incredibly more complex, especially in the last 10 years, internal combustion engines still need the basics to run. Compression, fuel, spark, and air. The most likely scenario for an intermittent issue like this is losing fuel. And since a fuel pump issue wouldn't trip a check engine light its still the most likely culprit.
