Default Stereo upgrade qualms

Hello all!

Just reading through all the forums and posts regarding any issues that surround this, I know that as my volvo, the s60 2001 is a P2 car, I will not have to worry about radio codes.

My question is regarding what the stereo installer is quoting me. He told me that if there is a DIN plug in the headunit/OE radio, I will need to buy a new amp.

The process and price for installing a new headunit is very affordable, while the price and install for a new amp is nearly double what I expect to pay for the head unit install.

Does anyone here know if there is indeed a DIN plug in the s60 2001? I don't want to go into this situation uneducated and be charged more than I need.

Thank you!

if you have the premium sound system then yes there is a plug
i replaced my factory radio with the (11 or 13 i dont remember) speaker set up i i have the 250 watt amp under my seat still (willing to sell by the way)
but anyway i just bypassed the din plug, it comes back from the amp so you dont need it UNLESS you are installing a different factory radio such as the HU-803
