Default Sun Roof

I have a 2004 S60, and yesterday the sun roof became stuck in the popped up position.
I do use it quite frequently, leaving it popped up more than 300 days a year.
I have never had any problems with the sun roof opening and closing before, it appears to have just died.
Any suggestions on a quick fix or known solutions for this?

Thanks for your input.

check to see if you have blown a fuse in both the #34(sunroof) slot position(15 amp) and/or the #38(siren) slot position(5 amp).....believe it or not the fuse for the siren in the 38 slot position also controls the sunroof, this I know cause I am blowing fuses in the 38 slot and my sunroof is not working and I jumped this slot and closed my sunroof...now I need to find out what is causing me to keep blowing the fuse...could be the siren or sunroof modules...also your sunroof motor/module could have went bad....I would check fuses first and reply with your findings!!

Default Fuses

Thanks for the heads up. I have been having siren issues as of late-the alarm going off randomly at least 3 times a week.
I am going to switch out the fuses and hope that is the quick fix, and it is not a motor issue.

Thanks again.

Keep you posted with the results

if you keep blowing fuses then it is either the sunroof motor or module or the siren module....the siren module has batteries inside which from my understanding leak acid all over the circut board and creates this issue, should it be the siren module here is a link that will walk you through fixing this issue yourself:

Search on here on how to check the siren, and replace or fix if necessary, only the dealer can calibrate with there computer, most people don't and it works.

Try this, put your car key in position 2, leave in park, hold the read button on the stalk and press the REAR fog light button twice, look in the message center, press read until you get to UEM, i bet it says DTC SET.

Dtcs in the uem are allways set due to alarm going off ur best bet is to

roll the driver window and lock ur car wait 30 seconds and reach in and open the car from the inside with the handle if the alarm goes off ur siren is good. Alot of s6o problem are a short on the a-pille on the driver side the wire peels and shorts out. The wire color is pink .

so i swapped out the 15 amp fuse for the sunroof and it did nothing. then i put the amp back in for the siren ( i had taken this out over 8 months ago due to the siren going off constantly) and now the sun roof functions normally.
Any thoughts on this?

you are correct just replacing the 15 amp fuse in slot #34 will not work unless you have the 5 amp fuse in slot 38, as I stated above both slots 34 & 38 operate the sunroof...so I am glad that you were able to get it working, 1 of 2 things happened 8 months ago 1) your alarm went off due to your siren module going bad or 2) someone was trying to get into your car setting off the siren....those are the only 2 reasons your siren would be going off....keep ear open and keep us posted if the problem occurs, if I were a betting man and you say your siren keeps going off...then I would have to say your module is going bad....but see what happens now you know that 34 & 38 work together to control your sunroof!!!! good luck and keep on posting ;-)
