Suspension Parts???????
I have a 2001 S60 2.4t in need of suspension parts. Can someone recommend which brand I should buy from FCP Groton? I need sway bar links in front and rear I also ned sway bar bushings, and a inner tie rod end. Can this work be done without the car being on a lift? Thanks for any information.
May I suggest that you try www.eeuroparts.com for the parts in question....
I know that FCP is a few dollars cheaper in this case but that is because you will be receiving an inferior part (unless you purchase "genuine volvo)
I would tell you to go with eeuroparts as the parts in question are all manufactured by Febi/Bilstein.. aka OEM as opposed to less respected brands listed on FCP's website such as Karlyn and Meyle...
The other advantage of eeuro being that you only have to spend $49 for free shipping vs the $150 you would have to spend on FCP.. Plus eeuro can custom order any parts you are having trouble finding..

Concerning the work itself, you will have to wait for one of the S60 boys to chime in..

first point is how do you know you need them?
Get parts from Darrel Waltrip Volvo in TN, genuine Volvo. Do not buy aftermarket parts, unless they are Febi which are purported to be Volvo's.
Anyway, you only need to jack that side of the car up. Sway bar links are easy. I don't know what you are talking about with sway bar bushings though? Maybe you mean control arm bushings? Outer tie rods are equally easy to do.
Since you are in there, you really should do the entire thing. Sway bar links, control arm, and tie rod and ball joint. Then you only have to align it the one time.
I am curious how you know you need rear links though? I just did mine in the rear, and they weren't too bad but a little clicking sound when I examined them.
