Default Thoughts on IPD

Just purchased an 07 S60 2.5T and considering a few tweaks.

The first 2 are via IPD....

ipd Strut Bar Mount Conversion Kit

Upper Engine Stabilizer Mount & Bracket

and the 3rd is the eurosport cold air intake....

Eurosport Tuning: Ultra-Flo Air Intake System - 2.4T, 2.5T & T5 2001-2007

Appreciate hearing from anyone that has experience with these mods!

Thanks - Randy

I have the Strut bat conversion kit and the polly mount. They tighten up the front of the car slightly and helps the car turn into corners more precisely. But the firmer setup also adds some extra vibration through the car. In the manual's it's not to bad and you only notice it at idle but I've heard the vibration in the auto's are quite a bit worse.

Never seen the EST intake in person so i really can't comment on it. The AMS from iPd is really nice intake but IMHO a little over priced. Any intake you get can really use the help of SNABB's MAF to turbo pipe. That made just as big of a difference in both my cars as the pre MAF intake did.

Thanks for lead on the snabb intake pipe - checked it out and it looks promising.

The vibration from the strut bar doesn't sound good - the car has the geartronic tranny but that probably wouldn't make a difference.

If i were to buy a CIA again i would have gone with CCI Intake System, Volvo S60/V70 Turbo - ViVA Performance. Its a better setup and the Snabb pipe would work great with this.I have the Est and i like it but it still pulls most of the air from the hot engine bay. The Viva setup works right offf the air intake in the front grill and is a closed loop all the way to the turbo.

Thanks - hadn't heard of that one. Doesn't EST also pull from the front grill as well? I thought having it wide open would be less restrictive and allowed for greater flow? How much better would CCI be over just going with K&N?

Depending on the manifolds you are running AIT is pretty much the same with all manifolds once you are moving. So it really comes down to restriction. What poly mount are you taking about? In general urthane bushings always transmit a bit more vibration. Issue is were is the vibration coming from and is more than is normal. I am not on this board much but if you need help feel free to PM me.

Est uses a metal "heat shield" that does funnel the air intake around the CIA filter but it is open to the engine bay.K&N is fine the gain of a CIA is 1-2 hp may be its more about the sound .The spool of the turbo and Whoosh sound with closing the throttle.Buy the K&N and Spend the $200 on the OBX catless down pipe. That is a performance gain.

It will fit, but what if your budget and how long do you plan to keep your car? OBX is great if your just trying to make it through college and have some fun on the way. Other wise step up to something a little better build. If you do get the OBX, their v-band clamps are junk. Just have the system welded which is a better option anyways. Here is what to expect with OBX quality: http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/topic..._fromsearch__1

Edited Part: Just saw you wanted to know which one. Ebay item number 180711031222

The best IPD upgrade in term of performance is the ECU upgrade IMO. I did the ECU upgrade a year ago on my 2004 S60 2.5T and the improvement in torque and power was really obvious. Not a cheap upgrade but really worth it.

cant beat a tune to unleash the power that Volvo has locked away in these cars. Also with a S60 no clamps on OBX pipe. Buy 1 and have a Hiflow cat welded in you are at $225ish or buy it from one of the 10+ sites and pay $600-$1000.Heres 100s of post from guys that are using it http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthr...ht=obx+s60.Not sure what year and model you car is but take a look here http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_from=R4...All-Categories

Thanks, I've also been looking at that. Have you done anything to tighten the car in corners?
