Default Torque Steer on S60

Maybe someone with an S60 can tell me if theirs does the same and whether or not they think it is normal.

I have a 2009 S60 2.5T with about 6,500 miles. Let's say I perform the following test.

Drive on a straight flat road at around 40 to 45 mph. The road is such that if I was crusing at this speed and let go of the steering wheel, the car would track straight.

Now here's the test. While cruising at this speed with both hands about an inch away from the steering wheel, hit the accelerator a little. Not flooring it, simply giving it some gas to make it accelerate but not overly fast.

When I do this, there is a definite pull to the right hand side. i.e. the passenger's side. Not a huge pull, but definitely a pull.

Does this sound like a normal case of torque steer? I thought that I would have had to really gun it before I would notice much torque steer, but perhaps I am wrong.

Thanks, and love this forum.

Mine does that. Its a FWD with a torquey lower range and soft suspension bushings.

In addition I also had to get used to the increased road feel and suspension feedback [noise] which I hated at first, now I cant drive a car without it.

What I dont like is the slight tendency for the car to track while changing lanes on the freeway. I also just got my car back from the shop and it still needs control arm bushings and upper strut mounts. Just $775 more to go. oh well $2k every 100K isnt THAT bad

Thanks for the reply seraphgorny.

Is yours also a 2.5T, or something else?

Thanks for the reply Magnus308. It's looking like this is indeed normal.

My last car was rear wheel drive, so I suppose I might notice torque steer a little more than others.
