Transmission cleaner fluid in my 03 s60?
I couldn't find this anywhere here so I thought I'd ask. For background, I have an 03 s60 (97k miles) with transmission shifting problems similar to a lot of others here. 1st>2nd is rough when at operating temp as well as 2nd>3rd, after that its fine. I did a fluid change, NOT a fluid flush because I really don't have the space, time, or money to do an actual flush. The fluid change made the shifting flares more tolerable, but they are still there. After reading some other threads I'm thinking the next step is either an actual fluid flush, or change the servo's. (i think that's what they're called, I'm not too experienced with this kind of work). However since I'm in college and therefore broke, I was wondering if it is a good idea to try one of those transmission fluid cleaner bottles you see at autozone or whatever auto-parts store before I pull the trigger on either of the previous options. From doing the fluid change I am aware there is a particular fluid these volvos need so I wanted to ask before I potentially brick my transmission.

2. A fluid flush, or several drain and fills would not be a bad idea (using the CORRECT FLUID! and set to the correct level)
Change the solenoids? A reman valve body would be a better idea especially -
3. If you are not experienced in trans repairs and you need your car for transportation - don't try to fix it yourself.
4. That's a dilemma -
5. Do not put anything in your transmission other than the correct fluid. You will regret it.
