I have been reading several posts concerning turbo whine and I wanted to see if I should have any concerns with my 01 S60 2.4t. I notice a whistle (maybe a whine?) sound coming from under the hood when I accelerate. The noise is worse when it is cold then it improves but does not go away. You cannot hear it unless you are in gear and accelerating. When it is in neutral it does not produce the sound. My recently purchased 01 has 107k miles on it and it seems to accelerate fine and the highway gas mileage is about 25mpg. Should I have any concerns with the turbo or do they seem to get noiser with age? The car has been maintained well with regular oil changes and I noticed in the past dealer records that the turbo return line seal was replaced around 75k miles.
Any ideas?

That describes the sound that I am experiencing (especially using the throttle) but it does it all the time rain OR shine....

Maybe one of the intercooler hoses bad or going bad and sucking shut.
