I haven't had the S60 very long and not sure if the turbo is working or not, engine runs well and no warning lights or messages on the dash but compared to the other turbo diesel I've had I don't feel it kick in at all.
Is their some simple checks I can do to confirm if the turbo is working or not?

 

It would be nice if these cars had a boost gauge. I would think the car would be a dog if the turbo wasn't working.

 

Apparently the turbo kicks in at 1400 rpm, the S60 accelerates so smoothly so that's probably why I don't feel anything, I agree with you that it would be a dog if turbo not working!

 

It's a very small turbo so the car will have a nice and smooth powerband, it will feel like almost zero turbo lag.
