Used 2008 S60 - What To Watch Out For
Hello...
I'm looking at purchasing a used 2008 S60.
2008 Volvo S60 2.5T 4dr Sedan In Skiatook OK - Meeks Truck & Auto Sales
I've never owned a Volvo, so I wanted to get an idea of what I should watch for and be conscious of.
I appreciate any input you can give...

My 05 had all of the volvo-isms wrong that you were supposed to check for.
EGR system was restricted. Taking the cap off and putting a rubber glove over the oil fill caused the glove to partially inflate. Ignore that anc you can blow seals like the rear main...
Heater core was weeping. PITA to change. You must pull the steering column to do the job and getting those clips back in is an exercise is patience and creativity. I used a small C clamp and a cotter pin puller to deal with them. Puller to yank the clips, C clamp to put them on. Be sure to remove all the vent motors and linkage in the area before you start or you'll be replacing them
Does the sun roof work? No? Got an alarm error? replace the alarm located in the forward passenger wheel well.
Plan to change fluids, consider belts and hoses if they're oil covered or soft.
Struts look original? They can be pricey to swap.
Any clunks in the front end? Those can get pricey too.
Is the power steering rack weeping out the ends or near the input shaft?
Any vibrations at idle? the upper and lower isolators may be suspect.
I agree with the advice to look for a sticker showing a timing belt change. No sticker? It's time to change it. You can't tell a belt is bad by looking at it on the car.

I haven't noticed any issue, yet, aside from some fit-and-finish (some plastics will need to be replaced, here and there).
I'm no mechanic.
The engine bay looks pretty clean.
Everything "feels" ok, to me.
Honestly, the most annoying thing has been the lack of a built-in garage door opener.
