Hey,

Im still very happy with my just bought Volvo S60, but there are two things that I would like to fix:

1. The hatch that covers the cup holder between the front seats is broken and needs to be replaced.

2. The cd-cover hatch between the two front seats is quite squeaky and not so easy to handle, I need to replace this as well.

The problem is finding these specific items. I have looked at many parts sites, but I cant find this specific item. I dont know what its called or what the part number is. Ill post some pics of the two items, hopefully someone will be so kind to tell me what it is called, or what the part number is

The answer is covered in a topic two threads down. But here is a copy and paste of the part number for the center console cover. In catalogs it is referred to as a gaiter.

39978940 Gaiter sand/beige
39978936 Gaiter grey
8674901 Gaiter charcoal
39978938 Gaiter oak/arena

 

yes, saluki_s60 is correct. Part #1 is the gaiter which has the part numbers listed. Part #2 consists of several smaller components (armrest, cover w/ carphone, hinge and screw). Take a closer look at the armrest to find which part is making the squeak. If its the hinge, that is part number 8643127.

 

Saluki_s60 is wrong! I just went to ask Volvo dealer today. They do not just replace the cover/lid.....you have to replace the tray (WHOLE PART). Part # is 39852684, price is $47.22. Special order, but they will ship the next day.

 

Thanks for the help, but I have searched EVERY parts store one "S70driver" extensive links collection, and I have gone through many google sites. I have spent the last hour and a half looking, but I just cant find this part! Does anyone know how to find it?

I posted this link for someonealso looking for an odd part. For anyone in need of hard to find parts, a good source can be a specialized parts recycler. It'sone alternative to paying those stiff dealer prices. This one here is located in Rancho Cordova, CA and specializes in Volvos. What you have to do is send them an email or phone them with the part that you need. They have a pretty good inventory. I saved a bundle with my Honda years back.

FoCelestial: No Joking! You have to replace the whole tray, because the original cover/lid is attached with the tray, if you look at the gap carefully, you will see there is a spring to attach with that stupid cover/lid. The dealer even showed me the parts catalog that they don't only sell the cover/lid, you have toget the whole tray replace. $47.22 isn't a big pain (Exclude labor fee). Anyway, I am selling my S60 2.4T and switching to C230 Kompressor. VOLVO FOR (SHORT) LIFE.
