Default Volvo Remote Central Locking Issues

Hello all! - I own an s60 D5 2003 and have an issue with the remote central locking. The problem is that the remote key fob(s) do not always work. When the problem occurs, it will either stop the key fob from locking the car or worse still, will not allow the key fob to remotely unlock, in which case I have to manually unlock, triggering the alarm until the key is in the ignition and turned on. I have now resorted to manually locking the car and leaving the alarm off.

This happens with either key fob, both of which had their batteries replaced. I don't know if its related, but this has started occuring shortly after the last (75k) service.

Does anyone know if this is a known problem?

Many thanks
