Default Warped Air Box

Whilst replacing my air filter, I noticed that the air filter housing looked warped. Presumably after a previous replacement of the filter, the side tabs were not aligned correctly hence putting pressure on the housing & combined with the heat -> caused it to warp.

Any tricks, or do I need to buy a new housing? Are they expensive?

I wouldn't worry. I don't think anything is wrong. Mine did the same thing the first time I replaced the air filter. It's not warped in the permanent sense. Those tabs just have such a tight fit, especially the middle one. Don't be afraid to force it. Try using a screwdriver. That plastic can take quite a bit of abuse before it breaks.

Thanks for the tips.

I ended up putting a piece of wood into the top housing to brace it apart. The fit was so much easier. The tabs just slide straight in!

I am hoping with some heat, it will mould back into a straight line.
