The AC in my 2003 S60 has need intermittent lately, going out when it heats up and blowing warm air. It made for a particularly long drive to Vegas recently. At some point it just went out altogether and now even in cooler weather no cold air will blow. I looked into the shim fix but I decided to just replace the compressor since it's got almost 170K miles. However...yesterday I'm walking to my car and I notice something hanging below the front. It was a hose, and it had an angled cut. I pushed it back up into the cowling so it did't drag then investigated. I noticed a hose fitting that looked like the hose was attached to at one time, but now they were apart. I think this has something to do with the AC so this may be the culprit. Problem is I can't really determine what that hose is, and it won't reach to re-attach. I took some pictures the best I could to illustrate the problem. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

 

Yes it does look like an ac line...weird part is that the line seems to be cut as in someone cut it.
