hey I'm new...

I'm reading some problems about 02 volvos in some threads here.. I dont know much about cars... but I'm in pursuit of a used S60 .. 02 or 03 .. so what is an EMT problem?? what is EMT? ..

and how should i go about finding out if the caar that i'm looking into has that problem?

 

An EMT is the guy who rides in the back of an ambulance "Emergency Medical Technician". An ETM however, is an Electronic Throttle Module. And there is a recall/software update for some models https://volvoforums.com/m_16238/tm.htm

Chances are the car has the problem. it isnt that big of a deal, there is a service note on it so if you have problems they will replace it for free up to 10 years 200k

Is there any sign that I can tell my EMT is going to fail? What are the syndromes that is common before it actually stalls the car??
