Default What is this green light??

I have had my '07 S60 for about a month now and today I noticed a light I had not seen before because I had never been in the front passenger seat. There is no mention of this light in the manual and I can see no purpose for it. It is green, 1/4" x 3/4" and sits horizontally just under the roll-top of the center cup holder, on the driver's side above the front cup holder. It seems to come on at random times and with no apparent trigger. Is it simply to illuminate the cup holder? If so, why only the front one and why is it on randomly during the day? It's not important, but I don't like things I can't explain. Thanks.

Its to illuminate the cup holder. It should be tied to the sun sensor, so it comes on when the sun sensor thinks its dark enough
