What is STC?
Hi guys,
I'm sure this is a question a lot of people ask, but when I did a search it said that STC was too short of a search term.
What is it? What happens when I turn it on or off?

It's the car's traction control system. I believe it stands for Stability Traction Control. When on, it keeps the wheels from spinning by retarding some of the engine power when slip is detected. Also helps if the car starts to slide.
I dont think it actively transfers to the other wheel... that sounds more like awd to me.. I think it just retards the timing to keep the revs at an acceptable level to prevent slip...
DTSC on the other hand also involves the cars braking system i believe

Exactly.
"W" is for winter mode. Basically you start in 2nd gear instead of 1st the lower the torque delivery to wheels and help avoid spinning. Use only on snow or ice.
