2003 S60 2.4T with 108k on the odo...

had our transmission diagnosed a month back and the dealer suggested TJ16761

said the transmission needed reprogrammed, and a fluid change
plus they need 60 miles of drive time for the transmission to 'keep' the programming - is this for real?

also wanted $850 to do all this...

scam? or reality?

 

tj stands for technical journal. its kind of like a technical service bulletin. they are problem that volvo knows about and the tj instructs how to repair them.

 

oh ok- so this is something the dealer has to do? or can an independent volvo shop do this?

any ideas on what needs done?
