whistling sound when engine braking

whistling sound when engine braking
I am having strange problem with S60 2.4d D5... Earlier today, when I used engine braking(shifted from higher to lower gear),strange sound come from transimssion system,something like whistling,like on busses with retarder... I am wondering what can cause that?

Visually inspect the tranny & the intake/vacuum system for dislodged hoses/connections. I'm not privy to the S60s so wait for either Tech or JKS2 for better & more accurate replies.
