Unhappy Wired Heat in driver seat area

Hi. This is Rico. I have brought a 2001 s60 2.4. Car condition is good. Engine and a/c runs good.

however when i drive fast or in higher rpm (larger than 2K), there is a heat wave coming from leg room and front (audio) panel. The panel is warm too.

I feel this is not normal since i have no such problem on my bmw & mazda (same year).

Please can you see if any action I can do to solve this.

Many thanks.

I just bought an 02 S60 and was experiencing the exact same problem, after looking around under the dash I discovered the rubber grommet that covers the hole in the firewall where the steering rod goes through had come off. It was a little bit of a struggle to get it back on there but once I did, No more hot air.
