Default 1998 volvo s70 Non Turbo fwd

I saw s70driver's thread, and i saw that his car was a 99 s70 awd. I have been looking for performance parts for my volvo fora while, and all that the parts that the websites sell are for the s70 Turbo models which i do not have....
can someone give me tips on what to buy for my 98 s70 NON-turbo. i have been to all of the websites that s70driver mentions in his thread, but all of the parts on the website are for the Turbo model..
thanks,
cm123

Basically there isn't much.

Sell your N/A and buy a turbo model, trust me you will be pleased.

You basically wont gain much from any parts out there.

-Catback system, have a local muffler shop build it for you 2.25"-2.5" crush bent piping to a baffled muffler like a Flowmaster.

-Homemade intake

These are your basic options and like I said before you wont see much.

a friend of mine has a 98 and a 99 s70 glt and a t5.. the 98 s70 is the glt and the 99 is the t5..
he told me that he would sell me the turbo part from either of the cars because he said it was removable??
im not sure if that is true or not... do you kno if it can be removed.. and if it can, would i be able to put it onto my s70?

1. Yes he can remove the turbo.

2. Yes you can fit it to your car. But...

It isn't has simple as taking the turbo from his car and putting it on your car.

You need more then just the turbo.

1. Turbo
2. Downpipe
3. Catback
4. Intercooler
5. Intercooler Hard Pipes
6. Turbo Hoses
7. Vaccum lines
8. Oil and or water lines
9. Hose clamps or T-bolt clamps
10. ECU upgrade to take into account a turbo and I mean a true dyno tuning not just an off the shelf ECU upgrade. This is going to be the most important, time comsuming and costly thing to do.

To do it right your looking at a good $3k+.

I agree with him completely, I too have been in your shoes at one point.Unless you are prepared to dump a bunch of money (and by a bunch I mean over 4 grand) into your car to make it fast.Volvos are pretty expensive once you start messing with them, and belive me I have felt the burn from these cars when and if the project goes south and it hurts, especially in the wallet. Just my 2 cents dude hope it all goes well for you in whatever you do.

it cost aproximately 1000$ for a complete T5 motor and 500$ to install ! i have a s70 1998 non-turbo too and i soon install a T5 from a c70 1998 smash . there a T5 from a s60 2002 on lespacs.com at 1200 $ negociable if not sold yet ! don't spend your money on part until you put a turbo motor . then go to ipdusa.com or eurosporttuning.com for quality parts!

No I didn't.

I got them from IPD USA when they had a closeout sale on HEICO items. Got it for much less.

You mean like this one?

Also you mean a V70XC grille. An XC70 grille is very different then what I have above which is the V70XC grille. And yes there are a few places you can find these.

1. Dealership, cost is going to be around $250 brand new.
2. Viva Performance, cost is going to be around $250 brand new.
3. Erie Vo Vo, cost $125 they are used. They only had four in stock and I bought one. So they are down to three if not less. These are a hot ticket item and sell quickly. Call them up ASAP and see if they have some still in stock.

Also whereever you order from just say you want the V70XC grille that will fit 98-00 70 series models. Or tell them the V70XC eggcrate style grille that will fit 98-00 70 series models. Being more specific can help people more in the long run.

I called them and I suggest you do the same.

I would suggest a 1998 s70 T5. Lots of nice mods available for it. Like wise the s60R but I like the 1998 s70 T5 better.

I got the intercooler and pipes for 500,the hoses and fittings aren't that much. And i got two garrett t6 turbo Not sure if i would do install two of them) for 100 dollars from a friend who did an upgrade on his car.(supra)I Just need the manifold. $250 on ebay.

So 1000 there to start.

Before you go for any power gain, i would Do the simple stuff. fuel ie. Pump and injectors, intake and exhaust. Followed by ignition. Without doing this it's really a waste to go for power, on any Make of model.
I have a n/a s70, It's all about working with what you have. only thing different is the turbo manifold and turbo. (just a summary)

Motor swap would cost about the same,as it would to have a turbo installed for a motor with a stock turbo. Its all about what you think is the best course and how much you can spend.

Daniel, you have replied to a 4 year old post. That car may be long gone by now.
