Hello group,nice to meet you all my name is Rob. I would like to know ifa softwear down load is neccessary when the
ignition lock is replaced. I now have ignition switch unplug-
ged and car starts. Ignition switch only turns to position #1

Up-date. No softwear down load needed w/replacing ignition
lock cylinder. It takes 7-10 working days to get coded lock
cylinder from dealer,order by vin#.

Well Tech I'll know in 7-10 working days if i indeed figured it
out. Thanks for your reply. This being my first post here it is
nice to know someone is reading the posts. I will post again
if I have a problem with switch replacement.

It will be a little bit of a pain.
You are supposed to drill and easy out them.
But I usually take a chisel and cut around the shear off bolt and break the aluminum out so it comes off.
But you also have to be careful some of the new ones don't come with the top half anymore.

 

Thanks for the heads up on the part,I think I will wait for the
new part to arrive before I proceed to "HAMMER TIME".
