Default 1999 S70 T5 ETM and no start?

Hey guys,

Looking for a little guidance on some issues my car is having. I was driving up a serious pass here in Colorado when my car lost a lot of its normal power but I still had enough to get me home. When I would let off the throttle the car would jerk, the same would happen when I changed gears. Around 70 miles later the CEL came on, but I was still able to clip along at highway speeds but did not have the normal "Omph" that the T5 usually has. When I got home I checked the codes. They were: P1283, P0121, and P1171. When I went out the next morning to do some suspension work and I backed it out a bit to get the jack underneath the tach bounced up and down from around 500 to 2000 (about a second each bounce). Now today when I went out to take another look the car won't start at all. I get some activity under the hood, but it seems like it is not getting any fuel (pure speculation). Signs are pointing towards a bad ETM/MAF, but the not starting has me puzzled. Will a bad ETM cause the car to not start? A helpful soul on another forum thinks it may be a bad MAP sensor...It will not start with or without the MAF. Thanks for your help.

Has the ETM ever been replaced?

I pulled the ETM yesterday and it is a yellow tag (replacement) part. A member of another forum suggested that the non start issue may be "Lawn Mower" syndrome induced when I started and backed it up to work on the suspension. It only ran for about 3 seconds. I am sending the ETM off to Xemodex and once it is back I will put her back together and hopefully I can get it to start.

A quick compression test would prove Lawn Mower Syndrome.

Did you ever find out if it was a bad ETM? It seems I am having the same issues.

Have you scanned for codes?

Default fixed.

So after replacing ETM, MAF, TCV, and purge valve the idle will still occasionally dip and then swing back up to a steady 800rpm. No biggie I guess. Unless somebody has more ideas I'll just live with it. Lawn mower syndrome sorted itself out after a couple of days of sitting in the parking spot
