I got the vehicle in 2004 and it had roughly 68K miles on it. Up until August of 2014 I was putting roughly 10K miles on it a year.

Now I have a new job that requires me to commute 114 miles round trip five days a week.

In the past few months I've lost oil. However it isn't leaking. There is no oil on my garage floor under my car. It is also not being burned. Tests have been done and they come back fine.

Where could this oil be going? I'm loosing 1-3 quarts every 4-5 weeks. I've been told that it's just an old car that's using up more oil.... It has to be going somewhere.

 

Sure it's not a 2.4L? I didn't know they made a 2.5.... Anyway, my first thought is Turbo blow-by. I'd say the easiest way to check would be removing one end of the top inter cooler hose and see if there's any oil in it. The turbo on my car is a PITA to get to as it's covered by a fairly large heat shield.

If there's a significant amount of oil in your intercooler hose, you might want to visually check the impeller on the turbo.

Now I'm fairly new to these cars so I could be wrong, but it can't hurt to check.

Man, you caught me. I have been going by your place and taking a little oil out to top mine off...

There is 2 ways that I know of that a car engine could be loosing oil; 1. Leaking and 2 Burning it.

So, lets agree that the motor is burning oil since you can not find a leak. Now for some basic questions...
1. How many miles on the car/engine?
2. What weight oil are you using?
3. How many miles do you drive in a week?
4. How much oil are you going through in 1,000 miles?
