I've read on here and am starting to guess the a sticky lifter may be the answer I am looking for, but anywho I noticed it today after my car was warmed up (and yes I did just get my oil changed last week...) The sound sounds like it is coming straight from the block, it is more of a tick then a knock. Suggestions?

 

Does the sound go away with higher RPMs? What kind of oil filter did you use?

Weird thing is it went away later on this afternoon, and it didnt start again. i hacent driven again today yet so i will update tomorrow when i drive her again. Not sure of the filter though (first time I had the dealership do the oil change)

 

A Volvo dealership?

 

No it was an "import" delearship, kinda has a mix of cars. There isn't a Volvo dealership around here

 

Then I would do what Lee suggested and get your hands on some Volvo/Mann filters quick. Order a few from www.iPdUSA.com or www.FCPEuro.com. I use to get them by the case of 10 but 3 at a time would be good.

You can change the filter ASAP and that may end your sorrow. You shouldn't loose much oil, maybe 1 quart.
