Default '98 S70 oil change Q's

Just wondering:
*Mobil 1 full synthetic 10w30 sound good?
*How many quarts?
*Can I get an oil filter from the local parts stores or does it have to be a dealership filter?

1.) Any 10w30 is good. Synthetic is always better.
2.)I think its 6.1 quarts.
3.)Not sure, I used one from the parts store.

*wait for tech to answer he will most likely know.*

STP, BOSCH, K&N, Mobil1....take your pick.
(just remember to open the box in the store to make sure the O-Ring is in there and not messed up!)

If this was November and you were from a cold climate, then 5/30. 10/30 now is just fine. Like the others said, it's a good idea to get synthetic. Now paying $11 for a mann filter at the dealer is just silly. If you can wait, order them from Groton or Waltrip for less than half of that.

And not to be picky, but I believe it's 6.1 quarts to the midline, 6.5 quarts to fill to the brim.

1). +1, I run Castrol Full Synthetic 5/30 here in Fla. Full Syn. is better!

2). +1 ON 6.1

3) +1 on FredMc's suggestion of ordering thru Groton.

For those of you running synthetic, how often do you change it for your s70? 5000 miles? I run mobil1 synthetic 10w-30 on my 960 every 5000 miles and I want to do the same for my recently acquired s70 non turbo. Also, please tell me whether or not you have turbo.
As far as the oil filter is concerned, I use Mann. I plan to use mobil filter once I use all of my Mann filters. Advance Auto Parts is running a deal on Mobil1 with mobil1 filter for 29.99 +tax.
