Default '99 S70 Engine Temperature Indicator

I’m noticing the engine temperature warning indicator on my ‘99S70, w/148K miles (I’m the original and proud owner) comes on when starting from a completely cold engine state (e.g. first start in the morning), remains on for a few seconds, turns off and remains off while in operation. Thisis now a daily routine. It seems notto do this when starting from a warm/hot engine state. I’m guessing a possible issue with thecontacts within the heat sensor wiring. Any suggestions on troubleshooting and solution? Any pictures showing location of sensor andrelated wiring will be helpful!

Thanks!

Mine comes on and stays on even though there is not temperature problem. Is it throwing any codes? I'm almost certain there are two sensors. One I know for a fact is on the bottom of the coolant overflow tank. The other I saw at the parts store and it looks completely different so it has to mount elsewhere. I'll try taking a look sometime in the next few days because I'm replacing my starter and it looks like I'll be getting very familiar with the routing underneath the hood. It looks like a good amount needs to be removed just to replace the starter.
