Default 99 S70 T5 Whistling

Just figured I'd go ahead and post this up...

It whistles right after it starts for around 3-5 secs then disappears, and it's intermittent so it does not happen everytime. I have changed the tbelt, idler pulley, tensioner, plugs, serp belt is good.

Any ideas?

Does it only seem to happen when the A/C is on?

Nope it did it today with A/C off... it's very intermittent and doesn't seem to effect performance.

As long as you did not have the defroster on that rules out a bad Orifice tube for the A/C.

Or I wonder if you have a small vacuum leak.

Ok today I noticed it was doin it after I shut the engine off, I also noticed this morning I turned the AC button off, and fan control to off which disables the entire system and started it up and it did not whistle after startup or warming up for 5 mins, but as soon as I turned on the fan control it whistled.

So I'm thinking a fan or blower of some sort, or perhaps the AC compressor.

Was it on defrost?
If so then the Orifice tube in the A/C line just outside the passenger side firewall.

Well if the auto setting puts it on defrost then yes it could have been, but I have not turned defrost on this year yet as it has not iced over yet.

Hard to say you would have to see if the compressor is cycling.
